Our vision: To train and prepare young people with leadership skills and quality sports. Understanding the importance of the Word of God and its effect in the lives of people we created a program which will affect body, soul and spirit. We teach every TEAKWON-DO student the importance of disciplines which will lead them to high performance and transforming character.
In order to accomplish these goals this is our strategy:
- Before every physical training the first hour is spent to study God's Word inductively.
- Every three months we have competition and examination for their physical training which can be passed only after completing their spiritual exercise.
- We have intensive training through camps to raise the quality of sports and in the same time the knowledge of God through the Word of God by intensive bible study.
- Participate in outreach in public schools, theaters, stadiums, arenas, auditoriums to show exhibition and testimonies of those whose lives were changed through God's Word.
- Choose and promote leaders who will become trainers with the purpose of discipleship and multiplication.
- Participate in competitions (national and international) to give the teams challenge and vision for the world.
- Train trainers and instructors to become missionaries in villages with no evangelical presence or only with a state religion.
- Network with sports organizations in Moldova, former Soviet Union and internationally; participate at their conferences, learn from them and share our vision.
Testimony of a Teakwon-do club member from Moldova: "Ionel (John) Rotaru before joining our club in Lapushnah was 'bad to the bone." His father threatened that if he got in trouble once more with the law, he would personally kill him. Ionel wanted to come to our club so he would learn how to defend himself better against anyone opposing him, including his father.
When he learned that bible study is required in our club he agreed in principle only, but never opened a study book or did any lesson. He just hated 'this kind of stuff." When 3 months later he was due for his first exam in bible study and teakwon-do, he begged a class mate (non-Christian) to fill in his manual (without our knowledge) and ... he passed both tests.
One year into his training he got the 3rd place in national championship but his moral was failing. He got into such a depression that he wanted to take his life; he cut this wrists hoping to die. Vasile, his instructor, went to visit him in the hospital. When Ionel (John) saw his instructor said: "I want to receive Jesus Christ as my Savior!" The two prayed together by that hospital bed in Moldova. Three months later John came to his instructor and said: "God told me to go to my village; the young people are in such a mess: they get into fights, heavy drinking and unspeakable acts. I want to open a teakwon-do club and get them into bible study."
At the first meeting 7 people came and a some time later there were 20. Three times a week he walks 13 miles to this village. His club prayed God to provide him with transportation and He did. John received a used Russian bike. Seeing his efforts and testimony five other club members offered to become missionaries. Now the bike carries 6 teakwon-do missionaries to 6 villages every week. Please pray for their efforts.
