Today, there are many religious groups and sects; they use fear and violence when they spread their religion and opinions. As justification, they point to the cruelties of the Christian church in the past (crusades, forced conversion and forced baptism with following execution). Dave Hunt quote in his book ,A cup of Trembling' Pages: 339+340: 'Any 'Christianity,' however, that was spread by the sword was a fraud. Anyone who claimed to be a Christian and acted violently against another person, either to defend or spread the Christian faith, was acting in the clearest opposition to the teachings of the Bible and of Christ and His example. * That is not Christianity at all! A 'Christian', on the other hand, who joined the Crusades and killed Jews to take the Holy Land for the Church, or who joined an equally violent crusade against the Albigenses, Waldenses, Hussites, or Hugenots, and slaughtered these and other Christians who refused allegiance to the Roman Catholic Church, was not true Christian at all. Such a person was acting in direct opposition to both the teachings and example of Jesus Christ.' * (But not if someone is in trouble, needs help and you must defend him.
